Mural artist Maria Trimbell has collaborated with celebrated designers and creative clients throughout California, nationally, and internationally for over two decades, hand painting evocative decorative interiors with a timeless, poetic spirit.

WIth enduring passion for quality and resonance, Maria paints in loose, spontaneous brushstrokes that harmoniously blend European elegance with nature’s wild beauty for immersive atmospheres that feel inspired and serene. The studio's one-of-a-kind decorative finishes are made-to-order onsite using traditional and modern materials to ensure each project is beautifully unique.

With a studio based on California's Central Coast (between LA and San Francisco), Maria and her team of artists travel for select projects, while in partnership with her husband (a master printer), she now proudly offers a line of original hand painted murals that are meticulously reproduced bespoke in-house.

A love of nature, art and architecture (and an encounter with a Titian painting in a book) captured decorative artist Maria Trimbell's creative imagination from an early age.  Born and raised in California to a family that revered wild spaces and encouraged her artistic gifts, Maria spent her youth drawing, exploring the forest, and honing her art skills through private lessons.
An influential summer "grand tour" of Europe in a VW van with her family at seventeen included a visit to the Louvre that brought Maria closer to the paintings that touched her from childhood, and further fueled her passion for art.
After earning a BFA (summa cum laude), Maria felt a yearning to work outside the traditional studio context, while continuing to visit Europe, absorbing the art and ambience from Palladian Villas to the Alhambra. After several years working as art director for a Southern California decorative painting company gaining practical technical experience, she realized her desire to specialize in the more artistic aspects of the trade and started her own business, fortuitously earning a dream commission in Venice, Italy – to paint a whole room scenic mural in a building where Titian himself once lived and worked. From that moment, Maria's career found a fertile path.
With frequent commissions from renowned designers and creative homeowners in the U.S. and abroad, and now creating her own line of original, luxuriously bespoke printed mural wallcoverings, Maria continues to be informed and inspired by her travels – with an innate drive to create distinctive work, broaden her scope, and always welcome serendipity.
